The 32-year-old Czech Republic international has found himself down the pecking order at Cheslea following the emergence of Belgian Thibault Courtois, Cech reduced to making just four Premier League appearances this campaign.
Having already expressed his discontent at sitting on the bench, Cech’s agent Victor Kolar today revealed that he had been given permission by the club to find Cech a new club for next season.
Cech, who has seen out 11 seasons with Chelsea, has been repeatedly linked with a move away with Arsenal, Liverpool and Besiktas rumoured to be intersted in securing his services.
But speaking today, Mourinho said: “I don’t know if it’s absolutely true what the agent is saying.
“Petr is one of my best so I would like him to stay and I have to say; yes, I am optimistic that he can be here next year.”
