Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement that would allow him to become Manchester City manager next season.
Pressure is starting to mount on the Italian after his Real Madrid side saw the defence of their Champions League crown end with Wednesday’s semi-final loss to Juventus, while Los Galacticos also trail fierce rivals Barcelona in the hunt for the La Liga title.

But it appears former Chelsea boss Ancelotti may be preparing to jump the Bernabeu ship before he is pushed, with Sport Mediaset claiming the manager has signed a non-binding, pre-contract agreement allowing him to replace Manuel Pellegrini at The Etihad for the 2015/16 campaign – if he no longer feels supported in the Spanish capital.
The Chilean too is under the cosh after his City side surrendered the Premier League title to Chelsea, as well as failing to venture beyond the second round of the Champions League.
However, it had been suggested City chiefs are willing to allow Pellegrini to remain in the hot-seat next term.
Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has also been linked with the post in recent times.
